The tremendous evolution that aesthetic medicine has experienced in the application of peelings, lasers, wires and other techniques has had little effect in this area, at least through the eyes of a plastic surgeon.
"The neck has been a neglected area of medicine, both from a surgical and non-surgical standpoint. At Up Clinic, we give this area our full attention."
— Dr. Tiago Baptista Fernandes

Necklift
Characteristics of the aging neck
Muscle flaccidity (platysma);
Excess skin;
Excess fat;
Erasure of the jaw line;
Wrinkles;
Fall and excess volume of the submaxillary gland.
Characteristics of the procedure
Platysma repositioning – a muscle layer located under the skin of the neck (similar to tightening the muscles in abdominoplasty);
Removal of excess fat from the neck and the region under the chin;
Reduction of the size of the submaxillary glands and their suspension in selected cases;
Repositioning of the digastric muscles which raises the neck, giving the area a more defined appearance;
Skin reshaping after deep structures have been corrected, performing skin removal if necessary.
Type of incision
Depending on the quality of the skin and the aging of the neck, it is possible to perform this surgery only through a small incision under the chin (mini neck lift). Otherwise, the typical incision by the ear is necessary, in the case of too much skin laxity.
